Bio

Elyssa Rae specializes in corporate and executive storytelling, content development, project management, global PR coordination and event organization and management.  

She currently serves as a director at SPROCKIT, overseeing the startup community and all events, including the SPROCKIT Hub at NAB Show, Sync private forums at Fortune 500 offices and the Innovators Hub during CES. She also runs The Cleanie Awards, the first comprehensive awards program focused exclusively on clean tech and renewable energy, manages executive engagement for Poet&Quants CentreCourt MBA Festival series, and drives media programs for Subject Matter.
 
Elyssa brings nearly a decade's experience working at award-winning public relations agencies, including Edelman in San Francisco Bay Area. As part the corporate communications team, she focused on executive positioning and visibility, corporate storytelling and message development for technology leaders such as Adobe, Bloomberg, Juniper Networks and Red Hat. She also managed and drove branding campaigns for Silicon Valley-based nonprofits, including Unicode and Watermark. 
 
Elyssa began her career at The Harbour Group in Washington, D.C., where she created and executed corporate communications initiatives for consumer tech and entrepreneurial businesses at the local, regional and national levels. Elyssa also served as community manager of Startup Grind D.C., a startup community designed to educate, inspire and connect entrepreneurs by hosting fireside chats with successful local founders, innovators, educators and investors. 
 
Elyssa graduated from the University of Virginia with bachelor’s degrees in Media Studies and Sociology. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and exploring new cultures, having lived on three continents and visited over 25 countries.  She is also passionate about promoting female entrepreneurs and business leaders, volunteering at organizations such as Girls in Tech and Watermark. She lives with her fiancé, Brian, and their little puppy, Whistler, in Leesburg, Virginia.
